David has famously played a range of characters from female and male roles in major motion pictures. He has starred in such films as Dirty Dancing, Con Air, Hannah Montana, American Pie, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, Rambo, October Sky, The Maxx, and Neon Demon. He has also worked as an actor in television shows like Mad Men, Monk, The Wire, Saving Grace, and House. David played the roles of Dr. David Raamat, the male lead in the 1987 CBS television mini-series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman based on the novels of Paul D. Fuller, and as a major character in the 1997 NBC mini-series Quiz Show. His favorite roles are those of King Arthur and King Arthur as shown in the Ludlum's Camelot and Stone's Merlin trilogy, including the film The Knights Templar, and the TV series Merlin.
In an interview with MTV, David stated his view about the male gender. "I have two thoughts on the male gender. I'd like to give the verdict on the first one: The finger may be 10 inches long, but it's not wisdom." According to David's character exploits in the game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, he spends much of his time perfecting his art. His daughter wants him to work with all means necessary on getting back to "normal". However, he finds normalcy to be far away from his life of soaring and freezing over mountains, sliding down waterfalls, running into rocks, swimming in rivers and climbing up steep cliffs. David enjoys observing people's reactions to him: he can "never see anything too unusual".
He has made a career out of being different with his beard, his burkha, and a bunch of them. He is proud of his mustache that he started. He tried to have facial hair professionally to no avail. His famous mustache has sparked a lot of confusion that he is a Muslim or that he is gay. He is married to Judy, of Mayfield Heights, Ohio. d2c66b5586
